Premiering in the Spring of 2015, The Chequit returns to its glory days of being the centerpiece of the Heights on Shelter Island.

An extensive renovation reveals 31 brand new guestrooms each appointed with luxurious amenities like new bathrooms, restored hardwood floors, custom mattresses topped with luxury bedding and new technology like flat screen televisions and mini fridges. The design harks back to the golden age of vacationing on Shelter Island at the turn of the last century interpreted in a modern fresh way. For an alternate experience guests can choose Summer House at The Chequit, our quaint 6-room cottage that has been lovingly restored and offers seasonal accommodations in a historic setting at a great value.

The Chequit will also feature the White Hill Café on the main level featuring Blue Bottle Coffee and a unique grab and go concept perfect for building a delicious beach picnic. Our retail partner Wampum of Bridgehampton and Soho will be offering their urban cool street and surf apparel on the ground floor of The Cottage building. On the lower level of the hotel is Red Maple, our new restaurant featuring a unique menu of rustic small plates, wood fired flatbreads, and light local fare designed to for sharing and is complimented by our sommelier created wine list.
