About
I am The Famous Stove Lady, CEO of Belgrove Appliance, Inc. I started my own appliance business after my father unexpectedly passed in 1999. Since then I have been selling and repairing appliances for satisfied customers all over the country. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, Angie's List and a five-star rating on Yelp, Google and other rating sites like Intuit (makers of Turbo Tax and Quickbooks). I only hire, nice, honest people to work for me. Before I let somebody go into my client's home I have to completely trust and know them. The number one comment I get about my guys is that they are so nice. In fact, they are probably better at me because all they have to do is focus on clients.
We have happily grown so fast in the last several years, but that leaves me to do the marketing, accounting, answering the phones and the difficult technical jobs. My guys handle most of my restoration and field jobs. When necessary I go out on the road myself to add that special touch.
We strive to do the best for each and everyone that calls and becomes our clients. It is very expensive to run this type of company in NY, which is probably why I am the only one. Others have tried starting this type of company and I have watched them fail. I don't plan on going anywhere. This business is my life. I do it because I love it and not because of the money. I have employees because I want others to learn a trade, become financially independent, work in a pleasant environment, and so that these stoves will have a life long after I am gone from this earth.
I have been featured on NBC TV, Martha Stewart Radio, and many newspapers and blogs throughout the country. I pride myself on my reputation and seeing my clients smile when the job is over. Many of them become life-long friends.
I am not perfect, nor do I claim to be. What I am is honest and very reliable. My clients know they can reach me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, sometimes even when I am on vacation. :Why? Because antique stoves can have minds of their own and most technicians can't fix them. I have invested almost two decades and hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain this expertise and the inventory to be able to service people. And when I don't have something it is not odd for me to make it or spend months locating it.
I am often successful more than 90% of the time. It is not whether your stove can be fixed; it all depends on if the client wants to invest in the stove. Unless you have a Modern Maid stove - It is time to say good bye. :) Because I handle so many hats I ask that you please visit my website and complete a service request form (as opposed to calling for an appointment or a price). I will call you if I feel it is necessary and faster, but I spent a long time putting all of the information on my website so I could have people use that form when I was in the field servicing clients.
For me I believe it is extremely rude to take a phone call from a new potential client when you are in the home of an existing, paying client. Everyone regardless of what they pay deserves respect and top quality service. I strive to provide that. And if you feel that you are not getting it, I am very open to discussing it with you so my staff and I can improve the experience the next time or for the next customer. It is our policy to not discuss pricing over the phone. We just don't do it. There are way too many variables and it always ends up in a bad situation.
There is more information about me on the Stove Lady page under the About Us tab on my website www.stovelady.com and there are hundreds of photos on yelp.com (search for Belgrove Appliance, Yonkers, NY). Please do your research because an informed client is the best client.
Lastly, if you plan to buy a stove from somebody and it is hooked up to the gas we will come and check it out for you and give you a restoration quote BEFORE you buy it so you are not stuck with a stove that is more than you wanted to invest in. Thank you for your time reading my bio and I look forward to working with you.
